Lessons from travelling
I tend to get the holiday blues every time I come back from a trip and have to face the reality of everyday life again. I figure that if I could work out what it is about travelling that makes me feel so alive, then I can try and replicate some of those elements in my everyday life to make life easier to live. These are what I have been able to come up with to date: 1. I tend to do the same things at work - yes, the situations I have to deal with at work can be very different but they are bound by the same set of principles and rules, so I tend to merely reinforce what I already know at work everyday. When I go travelling, I learn and deal with something completely new and/or different. For instance, I really enjoyed learning more about American history like the Boston Tea Party, Sons of the Revolution, etc. Every historical detail stimulates my intellect and emotions, which is exciting and refreshing. 2.
